This page presents a growing portfolio of book projects developed as part of the Statistical Justice agenda. Conceived as trans-led and collaborative works, these projects create space to bring together research, community knowledge, lived experience, memory, and political analysis in formats that allow for deeper and more sustained exploration.
The proposed books examine different dimensions of statistical exclusion while foregrounding the knowledge, care, organizing, and resistance developed by trans and non-binary communities. The projects are currently at the concept and development stages, and we are seeking funding for research, community and regional coordination, editorial production, translation, and publication.
Book Project 1:#
Invisibilizades: The Consequences of the Statistical Invisibility of Trans People and Forms of Resistance in Latin America

Invisibilizades is a proposed multi-voice book about what happens when trans and non-binary people are excluded, erased, or misrepresented in official data across Latin America. It will explore the consequences of statistical invisibility for health, violence, rights, memory, and public policy, while foregrounding the knowledge, care, organizing, and community strategies developed to confront it.
The book responds to an especially urgent regional moment. Anti-gender movements and narratives are challenging the legitimacy of trans identities, weakening public commitments to equality, and placing hard-won but still fragile advances in law, policy, and institutional recognition at risk. In this context, documenting how trans communities have been counted, erased, protected, and exposed is not only an exercise in research and memory; it is also a strategy for defending rights and preserving the gains that communities have built. The project seeks to bring together contributors from across the region, strengthen connections among trans-led organizations, and contribute to a shared Latin American agenda for statistical justice. By connecting experiences across countries, it aims to support collective reflection, regional solidarity, and new strategies for protecting and advancing recognition, rights, and institutional change.
